31 Days of WishesWow, I certainly have gotten behind on these, haven’t I?!  My 10th prayer is for health.  I’ve been getting a bit of a sore throat lately, and this morning I was so achey and tired.  A cold is NOT what I had in mind for the Christmas season!

Collect for the Third Sunday of Advent

    Sunday, December 13th 2009

Stir up your power, O Lord, and with great might come among us; and, because we are sorely hindered by our sins, let your bountiful grace and mercy speedily help and deliver us; through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit, be honor and glory, now and for ever. Amen.

A collect is a short liturgical prayer, variable according to the day, the season of the church year, and the occasion. Collects for each Sunday are assigned according to the church year and are all listed in the Book of Common Prayer.

31 Days of WishesLast night my prayer came to me very late – I’d already shut down my computer!  So, know that last night my prayer was for patience.  I’m a little frustrated with a conversation that I had, and I need to be patient, something that is not easy for me!

This entry is part 8 of 31 in the series 31 Days of Wishes 2009

31 Days of WishesToday I have been feeling really icky all day.  I woke up this way, and I thought it would get better as the day moved on . . . and it hasn’t.  So, today’s prayer is just to feel better and hopefully not feel this way tomorrow!
