Our God-Given Creativity

How many times have you seen a Bible verse or inspirational message accompanied by a beautiful landscape picture? And how many times have you said something along the lines of “I love this sunset that God painted, He is such an amazing Artist!”?

It’s true though, right? God created a beautiful world for us to live in. He created beautiful plants, oceans, creatures . . . and people. Take a minute to think about that. God, the most amazing Artist of all, created us. How creative must He be to create each person differently, each family differently, each country and custom differently? Not only this, but He created each us in His image. Imagine that – the most creative being of all created us in His image. By definition, doesn’t that mean that we too are creative?

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

Genesis 1:27

No, we can’t all paint, play an instrument, draw something. But there are sooo many other ways that we use our creativity. That is the beauty of GOD’S amazing creativity. He creatively made us so that we could be creative in His image in unique and different ways! Cooking a meal, designing a car, solving a problem in a new way! A coach designing a new play for his football team is a creative act. Designing a software program requires creativity.

And best of all, finding new and different ways of loving each other requires the best creativity of all – we were made from creativity with love so that we could creatively love in return.

Are you using your creativity to it’s full potential? Are you seeking to worship God in new and creative ways? Are you being creative with your family and friends? Are you allowing yourself to have passions and hobbies, or are you stifling your God-given creativity so that you can conform to an image of perfection, something we can never achieve?

Show your love and appreciation to God by using your God-given creativity!!!

  1. I completely agree with this post miss Lindsey. We oftentimes forget about God’s artistry and the blessings He’s bestowed upon us to share as well.

A PRAISE for beautiful days and rainy ones too…that means it’ll be extra green tomorrow. 😉

Oh parables. I just lost the game.
